Hello February!

February is a good month, you know why? Because it is my birthday month!!! In 25 days I’ll be turning 26! I kind of feel old, but I still have a few more years in my 20′s so I’ll take that.The day after my birthday is my sister’s birthday, she turns 23; which I can’t believe, I still look at her as my little sister. Of course there is also Valentine’s day this month, which to me is just a good excuse to have a fancy date with my hubby.

So yesterday I realized I kind of jumped ahead of myself in terms of my Run/Walk goal for the month I was adding up my mileage, it turns out I should be running 93 miles this month, which doesn’t include my walking that I have also been tracking thanks to my fitbit. So my 85 miles is a little low.  So re-write!!!

February Goal Adjustment- Run/Walk 120 miles this month

I made this calendar to hang up at work to keep me motivated. I plan on crossing off in 2 different colors so I can keep track of two of my February goals. Black will be cross off that I did the exercise and in the morning, Red will be the days I foam roll.

Along with my goals I also like to refresh and re-assess everything to keep myself on track with the start of a new month. Although today is technically the first day of February, I’m going to start my refresh on Monday. There is something about the start of the new week that feels better to me. Plus, I’ve been having a blah week in terms of my exercise, and eating habits this week. I ran on Monday and Wednesday but didn’t really do anything else because I started to hurt hard core after Wednesday’s run. I was afraid to do anything so I don’t feel bad during tomorrow’s planned 8 miles (which P.S. is the most I’ve ran since our RNRUSA race last year when I took a break from running because of the wedding and injury). As far as eating most of my planned meals went out the window, and we ate out more this week than I would have wanted. Oh and there is the Superbowl on Sunday, which will have more junk options than I’d like. So with the combined rest from working out and blah eating last week has made my mood blah, so it’s decided Monday it is!!

An exciting thing happened this morning! We got a Groupon for Run or Dye 5K for half off. I immediately emailed my friends and decided to do it! I was super excited because I’ve been wanting to do a color run for a while and they have always either been far away or sold out. So I’m pumped to be doing this. It will be my first strictly fun run with no pressure to PR or anything. I’m super excited! Oh and it’s during Shannon’s birthday weekend which makes it even better!
