Well yesterday did NOT start out well. First: I went to turn on my Garmin at the start of the run, and it immediately dies. I’m pretty sure I was going faster than normal, as I felt really good! It must have been the mentality that “I just ran 8 miles, 5 is nothing!” Second: We were all on our way to my car after the run (because I had a surprise for the girls) and Chris and I realize slowly that our car is not in the spot. Turns out we were towed. I’ll save you the long story, but lets just say this was the first time in me parking the exact same spot for 6 months that this has happened! The surprise would have to wait, and Shannon drove us to our apartment complex, since we didn’t have ID, wallet, or even our house key (I just ran with my car key and left the rest in the car…never doing that again!) Luckily the tow company was half a mile down the road from us, so after maintenance let us into the apartment we walked over. And proceeded to pay $125 to get our car back. P.S we missed the truck by 5 minutes and this all happened before 7am
The rest of the day was fine, and I tried to stay positive the rest of the time. Things could only go up from there right?
A fun thing about yesterday was I got my married lady (name change) passport in the mail. Right in time for our Paris and Italy trip in April. This is the final final document I had to change my name on. What a relief!
Today was a 4 mile run, we are increasing our weekday mileage for the next 3 weeks before we start to taper in March. I was happy again, and felt fast this morning.
After the run, I finally had a chance to give the girls their surprise. I got them both (and myself) matching running themed bracelets. Like a grown up version of a friendship bracelet. I was reminiscing about the past two years of running with them and I wanted to do something for them to show how much having our running group meant to me. I went on Etsy and found this awesome bracelet. Cindi did a great job, and didn’t even charge more to personalize it with our initials. The cost wasn’t bad either, I’m sure I will return for another running themed item, probably a necklace. The bracelet says “This princess wears running shoes”. But you can customize it to say whatever!
